Igor Matushansky, MD, PhD

Dr. Matushansky is currently Assistant Professor of Medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University Medical Center in Manhattan. He received his undergraduate B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Columbia University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He then went on to attend the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he received his MD as well as a PhD in Molecular Biology. For his graduate work he received the Julius Marmur Award for Thesis Research.

Dr. Matushansky performed his Internal Medicine training at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center. He completed his fellowship in Medical Oncology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Matushansky cares for patients with solid tumors with an emphasis on sarcomas. He is currently involved in clinical, translational research in sarcomas and the teaching of medical oncology fellows. He coordinates a laboratory effort aimed at establishing a relationship between normal connective tissue development and sarcoma genesis as well as translating those findings into therapeutic modalities.
